“This is Christi Miller with Channel 27 news,
at what is being called “the great wall of Florida,” inarguably the largest
roadblock ever constructed. The containment boarder starts at the Atlantic
ocean and stretches across the entire state, making most of Florida a huge
quarantine zone. And yes, folks, these boys have real guns, with real bullets,
and have orders to shoot anyone who does not stop for the isolation teams.
The president has called in the armed forces as well as the national guard
to create this interdiction zone, in hopes of stopping the spread of what
the CDC is calling the worst epidemic the world has seen since the Black
Death decimated Europe.
While the CDC does not know how the virus is spreading,
or even if it is a virus, they do have a term for it. The Hyper-Accelerated
Recombinant DNA virus, or the HARD virus for short. And until they know
what it’s vector, or carrier is, they have no way of stopping it. Even
more frightening are the effects of the HARD virus itself. Thought impossible
before, the HARD virus is capable of rewriting the genetic code of a person
and triggering their cells to restructure, literally mutating the person
over the course of days, or even hours. Most people’s minds cannot survive
the transformation, becoming psychotic and totally insane. According
to authorities these changes are irreversible, and they estimate that the
infection rate inside the quarantine zone is near 95%, putting the death
toll in the tens of millions.
In the midst of this horrible tragedy, something
even more remarkable has occurred. Over the course of these tens of millions
of mutations, some of the victims seem to have developed some strange...
powers... the ability to do things that modern science cannot understand
or explain. Real super-powers, straight out of the comic books- people
capable of flying, lifting cars, and firing energy blasts. It is a dark
irony indeed that mankind now has it’s super-heroes, but they are all insane,
and are currently using their amazing powers to demolish the downtown areas
of Florida’s major cities...

behind us here is General Christopher Jumilan, given command of this blockade
by the President himself. General Jumilan- is it true that you are sending
a CDC agent, an ex-special forces member, into the quarantine zone? Is
the mission purely to find the HARD vector, or will you attempt to bring
out any of the survivors as well? General? General Jumilan...”

want her, her camera, her tapes, and her crew. Under the emergency war
powers act, I want her and her crew put under temporary arrest until further
